New Year, New Ideas!

It's been a funny old week for Lovin' Ink this week, we had a lovely day at our Stamping Club, exploring different techniques with Embossing folders with some of the loveliest people you can imagine.

The snow, however put paid to our planned Stamp Clinic on Saturday, and we were left twiddling our thumbs, feeling deprived at not being able to share our day with the crafty customers of Samuel Taylor's in Leeds. Still we have rescheduled for the 9th Feb so if you have stamps that you struggle to use, bring them along on the 9th and we'll do our best to change your mind about them.

We also start our new workshops in February, on the 2nd we'll be making this wonderful embellishment box at Samuel Taylor's, Embsay

and making some but not all of these lovely flowers and buttons.

Staying with the sewing theme we'll be making these exquisite exploding boxes at Samuel Taylors, Brighouse, on the 16th Feb and Samuel Taylors, Leeds, on the 26th of February.

We'll also be having a go at making this penny roller card

So excited about making these and teaching the wonderful inking techniques we used to make them! Hope you can join us!

Stay warm, stay safe and have a happy, crafty week

2013 Crafty giveaway number 1

We did this project with our stamping club last week.  When Michelle first produced the inside for this book a few years ago I laughed at her - honestly her stash is organised within an inch of its life - she would be great at Craft room makeovers! Anyway over time I have come to see what a useful tool this is especially for all lovers of distress inks.
The front covers are adapted from lots of folks input - not least the lovely Neil Walker and our lovely pal Linda who gave us some much needed tips last September.
here is the inside.  A print out with specially sized boxes to fit in the blending foam for the Tim Holtz distress tool. All neatly labelled with the ink names (including seasonal ones) bit of velcro to hold it in place. On the back page there are 6 free spaces just in case
(you never know what Tim has up his sleeve for new releases!)

So this is the first giveaway.
Just add your name to The linky tool and don't forget to follow us so you can find out if you won!
Draw will take place on 1st of Feb at 5pm so you have until then to enter.

Over on Facebook there has been lots of activity about giving Random acts of kindness throughout 2013 - Michelle and I think its a brilliant way to share with folks we only "see" on the internet but that have still given us so much support.
Therefore next week we will announce our very first monthly give away.

We will upload a picture of the gift and invite you to join the Mr Linky and pick out one winner
(who must also be a follower of the blog)
When the closing dates comes a winner will be picked at random to receive a gift made by either of us.
The winner will be announced on here
(thats why you need to follow us to be kept informed in case your win!)
and the pressie posted out to you.

Do watch out for the announcement - its a useful, practical gift on its way that quickly will become part of your must have craft kit!!!

See you soon

Special thoughts for a New Year

Janet and I have been busy over the holiday, reflecting on the wonderful year we've had with Lovin' Ink, and working out what we need to do to make this year as special. So many times, we come back to the knowledge that it's not what we do that make special moments happen, it's what we share with you all that ticks our success button.
The friendship, support and joy we find in sharing our love of paper, ink and stamps with you, is what makes our days with you such a pleasure.

This then is our aim for the year....

To make the year a year of sharing fun and laughter with very inky fingers as the bonus.

Much love, happiness and peace in the new year with a HUGE thank you for playing along with us on our journey.
X Janet and Michelle
